AUTUMN AND WINTER TRENDS 2007
Trends Autumn /Winter 2007.
Just as the autumn / winter fashion collections are appearing on the high street, exciting new designs and colour combinations are making an appearance in interiors.
The trend for metallics and embellishment was everywhere on the catwalk. For those wanting to add some sparkle to their interiors chose from Casamance Crystal, Cole & Sons Milan Collection, both featuring swarovski crystal or Ulf Moritz's Pearl.
The new Sackville Collection from Jasper Conran, inspired by men's suiting, is perfect for a monochrome scheme - comprising pinstripe fabrics suitable for upholstery and black and white graphic designs for soft furnishings, all resulting in a smart tailored look for your interior.
The Virtue wallpaper collection from Harlequin consists of exciting contemporary designs perfect for feature walls combining retro geometrics, smart stripes and graphic designs in modern neutral colourways and subtle metallics.
Harlequin's Romanie collection inspired by gypsy folklore offers a mixture of eclectic prints, bohemian embroideries and versatile wallpapers, all complemented by silk effect fabrics in more than 100 different colourways.
For the more adventurous interior decorator the Fornasetti Collection by Cole & Son will be of interest, featuring 14 designs from Piero Fornasetti's archive. The Italian artist is known for his surrealist stylised images on ceramics, textiles and furniture. One of his iconic images features the face of a girl he saw in a 19th century French magazine. During his lifetime he drew more than 350 variations of this face. The design "Tema e variazoni" is available in 3 colourways and is a must for any feature wall.
For those of you who prefer texture to pattern, Brian Yates offers a huge range of interesting wallcoverings.
There still continues to be a move away from minimalism towards self expression through the use of more flamboyant wallpapers and fabric, featuring over-scale pattern, metallic finishes and vibrant colour combinations
