Interior Trends Summer 2007
Bold pattern and vibrant schemes continue to be the trend, with feature walls still prominent – companies such as Cole & Son, Osborne & Little and Designers Guild are leading the way.
There is a more confident use of pattern, with the trend to layer designs by using wallpaper, fabrics and accessories in the same colour palette to create a harmonious scheme.
Interiors are following catwalk trends, with grey becoming the ‘new neutral’. To stop the scheme becoming dull add flashes of colour using either zesty yellow, vibrant green or purple. Metallics also featured on the catwalk, with this trend following in Interiors metallics are set to be the accent choice for 2007. Shimmering silver accents will also work well with grey – the new neutral.
Black still continues to be popular, with wallpapers featuring both glossy, matt and flock finishes.
Interiors are reflecting an eclectic mix of design, with statement pieces of modern furniture standing side-by-side more period pieces upholstered in contemporary fabric.
With the movement away from minimal schemes towards a more confident use of colour and individuality in Interiors, Fred Williamson’s extensive range of pattern books are the perfect starting point for your new interior design scheme.
